Half an hour of top information at the end of the day: exciting, entertaining and free of charge: these are our digital salons on current topics related to the cultural space of the cemetery, which we offer several times a year in loose succession.
Each of our salons focuses on an exciting topic, on which we first invite an expert to talk to us on our digital red sofa. We would like to talk to people who do not come directly from the cemetery scene and look at the cemetery culture in Germany from the outside.
After a moderated 20-minute discussion, all salon visitors will have the opportunity to join in the discussion. Afterwards, we look forward to an informal get-together on the Salon grounds. With our salon format, we not only want to contribute to discussing exciting current topics. Above all, we would like to facilitate informal get-togethers beyond the working level.
The streamlined format is aimed at experts, stakeholders and personalities in cemetery culture. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 99 people to allow for active participation in the discussion and personal exchange.
January 17, 2023 | 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
With Olaf Zimmermann, Executive Director of the German Cultural Council.
Our cemetery culture is an identity-forming, integral part of our overall societal understanding of culture - and yet it hardly receives any major cultural policy attention. Why is that, and what needs to change so that cemeteries, like theaters and museums, become a focus of cultural policy? We will talk about this with Olaf Zimmermann, managing director of the German Cultural Council and editor of Politik & Kultur.
An event in cooperation of the Curatorship Intangible Heritage Cemetery Culture and the Working Group Cemetery and Monument (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Friedhof und Denkmal e. V.).
