Consulting ethical conflicts

Lecture & talk with Susann Kohlschütter and Dr. med. Ann-Cathrin Graß

"Accompanying people on their final journey is a privilege. It makes me look respectfully at what is truly important in life."

- Susann Kohlschütter

It is not uncommon for ethical conflicts to arise in the outpatient care of terminally ill people, which are difficult to resolve among those involved alone. As an independent authority, outpatient ethics counseling aims to help find a solution. The focus of the consultation is the elaboration of arguments regarding patient welfare, autonomy, care and honesty.

Susann Kohlschütter is a palliative specialist and coordinator for ethics counseling. She has been working as a coordinator at Kasseler Hospital e.V. for three years.
