Hypnotherapy in Palliative Care

A way of communication through thoughtful attention directing

Lecture & discussion with Hans-Hermann Miest, Systemic Family Therapist at the Palliative Medicine Center of Marienkrankenhaus Kassel.
Moderated by Dr. Nina-Kristin Eulitz, palliative physician at the Palliative Medicine Center of Marienkrankenhaus Kassel and Dr. Silke Lauterbach, Chairwoman of the Board of the Akademie für Palliativmedizin, Palliativpflege und Hospizarbeit Nordhessen e. V.

Palliative care involves the treatment of seriously ill and dying people. Since causal therapy is no longer possible here, the focus is on controlling symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath, nausea and anxiety. Hypnotherapy can be helpful in improving the quality of life of those affected and their relatives. Case studies are used to show how symptom relief can be achieved by thoughtful attention control.
