Following her premiere reading from the children's book ‘Radieschen von unten’ in autumn 2023, Frankfurt illustrator Anke Kuhl is once again a guest at the Museum for Sepulchral Culture. On the morning of 27 March, she invites schoolchildren to an interactive picture book cinema followed by a drawing workshop. The theme is death. And anyone who has taken a look at the highly acclaimed book ‘Radishes from Below’ will realise that death can also be depicted in a sensitive and child-friendly way.
Drawing death? The first image that comes to mind is usually a skeleton, says Kuhl. ‘This motif is great to play with. When does the skeleton look dead, when does it suddenly come back to life?’ This morning's drawing is done in white on black. The material is provided and interested school classes are simply asked to leave a donation for the museum.
Duration: 1.5 hours (2 school lessons)
The event is primarily aimed at school pupils. School classes are requested to register in advance by sending an e-mail to museum@sepulkralkultur.de.
