ILLNESS AND DEATH IN COMICS

Reading of the comic artist Josephine Mark from “Murr” and “Trip mit Tropf”

An event as part of the conference transmortale XIV

“Trip with drip”

“None of this is true!” What fate has thrown at him is an imposition even for the most laid-back wolf: because it accidentally saved his life, he suddenly has a... rabbit on his hands. Rabbits! You eat them and good! If it weren't for the wolf code, which obliges him to look after the little rodent's welfare.

The rabbit can tell you a thing or two about impositions, after all, it drags an annoying drip and a meter-long medication schedule through life. These infusions, the constant nausea. And now a wolf! Wolves! They eat you up and out! But this wolf is so... different. And, you have to hand it to him, he knows where to go.

“Murr”

Murphy, known as Murr, is a born villain. Even as a child, neither monsters under the bed nor classmates are safe from the fierce hoodlum. Career recommendation: bandit. Without fear or conscience, he immediately sets out to become the most feared gunslinger in the area: Shoot-outs, double-crosses, adultery - Murr pulls out all the stops.

Until his lottery life eventually brings the scoundrel to the gallows, where he faces death himself. The confrontation with his mortality teaches even Murr the fear of death and so he makes a deal with the Grim Reaper from his bony cross: he can cheat death and even lose his fear of dying if he opens himself up to another feeling unknown to him... love. Murr laughs up his sleeve. But love laughs last!
