About which song will you say at the end of your life: That was my song?
The author, radio playwright and director Stefan Weiller spent years visiting dying people with this initial question. But the encounters were about much more: life at its end. The author has found a wide range of impressions, inspirations and music – and has also looked deep into himself in the process. His project ‘Letzte Lieder’ (Last Songs) emerged from these external impulses and inner insights and is constantly being reassembled. Because the conditions and circumstances of dying are constantly changing.
Weiller's impressions, inspirations and music flow into the live storytelling programme ‘Letzte Lieder’ – a cheerful and melancholy evening about dying and the interesting question of what is important at the end. ‘Letzte Lieder’ opens doors to a new way of dealing with questions about dying. Humour, confidence and serenity play a major role. At the same time, the mortification and tragedy of death is not trivialised and dying is not romanticised or glorified. Weiller's project ‘Letzte Lieder’ gets under your skin.
