Visual art, music and participatory audience are combined in this art action. The "Weggefährten" (companions) by Liz Mülleneisen, a serial work of paper cuts, are based on walks through Kassel and the surrounding area, exploring the structure of landscape, villages and cities. Composer Michael Töpel has taken up the theme and written the musical performance "Balladen" for viola and violin to accompany it. The audience is an integral part of the performance, accompanying the end of the performance to its climax through a whispering canon.
