How do we want to go?
What will remain of us?
And what might the farewell look like in the future?
With the Todomat, we are presenting an unusual thought experiment: a ‘legacy generator’ from the future. This interactive object invites visitors to playfully reflect on their own farewell - from the digital legacy to the final celebration.
It has been part of our special exhibition In Between for some time now. Many visitors have already explored the machine in a playful way - now it's time to finally present it officially.
The Todomat looks like a parking ticket machine, but behind its familiar façade lies an in-depth concept. With 20 decision questions on the topics of body, farewell, dates, things, memory and secrets, it encourages reflection - intuitively, interactively and with a pinch of provocation.
The project was developed as part of the ‘Urbane Xtopien - Freiräume der Zukunft’ programme, funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
Experience the Todomat for yourself! Be inspired, scrutinise social trends and get into conversation - with strangers or with people close to you.
If you like, you can also try out the Todomat at any time before or after the event in our special exhibition Dazwischen 2.0. We look forward to your visit!
