A co-operation between the Heilhaus Kassel, Evangelischer Stadtkirchenkreis Kassel, Katholisches Dekanat Kassel-Hofgeismar, the City of Kassel and the Museum für Sepulkralkultur.
As soon as we come into this world, it is essential for our existence that we are seen by others. Every year, however, several dozen people die anonymously in our city of Kassel without relatives accompanying them from life or taking care of their burial. The number of public order burials has steadily increased in recent decades because more and more people have no relatives. As a result, the organisation of the so-called Last Things has become an act that the municipality has to manage.
A memorial service for those who have died alone is being organised for the third time. The aim of the event is to use a communal ritual to bring back into the circle of society those who have fallen out of it during their lifetime and in their death. The commemoration aims to recognise the unseen by looking as a community at what we have lost.
We therefore cordially invite you to the public event ‘ANSEHEN’, which will take place on 5 April at 5.30 pm in the Karlskirche, Kassel.
The memorial service will be accompanied by music. Afterwards, we invite you to a get-together.
Admission is free.
