Like a spotlight, one decision leaves an entire life in the shadows. The darkness swallows the memories. Even if someone asks about it. Like a hammer, the end shatters words about travel, friends, family and happiness. "After the sudden suicide of their father, two siblings begin a silent correspondence: she writes to him, he draws back. Each filled page makes visible what words often lack. The dialogue opens up a world of enchanted memories, riddles and feelings that, intimate as they may be, bring to light something universal: That nothing is as one expects, fears, or hopes. Sister and brother let themselves be accompanied a bit through their now and then. In the forest of their childhood, on the way through the valley, they show in multi-layered image-word compositions, in allegorical and occasionally ironic drawings, that in the end a place is often surprisingly more than just a catastrophe.

Christine Färber was born in 1978 and grew up in a small Upper Franconian town on the edge of the forest. After studying German in Leipzig, she stayed in the big city and has since worked as a journalist and freelance writer. In 2017, she published her first book, "Alles auf jetzt," with Simone Unger at Christoph Links Verlag. She loves to run through the forest and across meadows.

Markus Färber was born in 1981 in the Franconian Forest. He studied art education in Würzburg and later visual communication with a focus on illustration in Kassel and Halle. His first book "Reprobus" was published by Rotopol in 2012. Now he lives in Leipzig and works from there as an illustrator and comic artist for a wide variety of agencies and clients. As part of the poster collective "Busy Hands" he designs concert posters under the pseudonym "Holob" and also makes music himself under this name.
