The Museum and Central Institute for Sepulchral Culture and the Study Group Cemetery and Monument (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Friedhof und Denkmal e. V.) are organised in a permeable way. Scientific advisory boards have been established for the different fields of activity and for the research work. They support the basic research on sepulchral culture, the research in the field of cemetery and burial and accompany the museum in the exhibition work and the upcoming redesign.

Advisory Board for Professional Issues

In the work of the Museum and Central Institute and the Study Group, cooperation with experts in the fields of cemetery management, design and burial is always in demand. Therefore, we work closely with experts from various fields of activity related to sepulchral culture.

Museum Advisory Board

In order to do justice to the constant changes in cemetery and burial culture and the resulting changing demands of museum visitors on the educational work in our institution, it became urgently necessary to update the permanent exhibition of the Museum for Sepulchral Culture. To this end, a temporary "Scientific Advisory Board for the New Concept for the Permanent Exhibition of the Museum for Sepulchral Culture" was established for the first time in 2017. Since 2022, planning for the new concept has been taking shape with the involvement of architects, scenographers and other stakeholders. In 2023, the committee, now restructured as the "Museum Advisory Board", was reorganized.

Advisory board for the special exhibition "Suicide"

An interdisciplinary advisory board was formed to accompany the special exhibition on suicide 2021. Scientific as well as creative principles require precise research and a joint discourse, which are supported by experts. In addition, the accompanying catalogue and the accompanying programme offer a platform for current research and pressing social issues. Scientists, philosophers and artists are therefore invited to discuss the presentation and an accompanying catalogue with the team, including contributions from current research and practice. The accompanying collaborations and events are also to be the subject of the advisory board.
