Online seminar. The event will be held using Webex conference software. Participants must have an internet-enabled device with a camera and microphone. The access link will be sent at least one day before the seminar.
Cemetery office managers, cemetery employees from the cemetery practice, stonemasons, cemetery gardeners, undertakers, people interested in the design of grave markers.
Using presentations, participants learn about the criteria for evaluating communal graves, reflect on their own cemetery's facilities, gain ideas for designing communal graves and make contacts with other cemetery operators.
Over the past two decades, various concepts for communal grave sites have developed in cemeteries. These include different types of themed graves, grave sites for specific social groups, various offerings that are particularly practical in terms of cost-benefit analysis, and grave sites offered by commercial providers. The aim of cemetery administrations is to ensure the long-term quality of the respective facility. With this goal in mind, a number of legal aspects need to be considered. The seminar will also present communal grave sites in the participants' cemeteries and discuss them in terms of social, economic, ecological, aesthetic-design and legal aspects. Since attention spans tend to be shorter in front of a screen than in person, the seminar is spread over four mornings. In addition to the opportunity to present their own work, the individual seminar units also offer participants plenty of space for questions and discussions.
