Who is it for:

Cemetery employees who work in the mourning hall service and as porters; cemetery managers whose area of responsibility is counselling on the allocation of graves or accompanying relatives in the cemetery's farewell rooms.

This is what it's all about:

Learn about the needs of mourners with Birgit A. Janetzky, an experienced theologian and coach, and find out how this knowledge can be applied in your own day-to-day work.

Funeral practice and a customer-oriented approach to relatives

The ‘cemetery’ workplace presents its employees with special challenges. In addition to professional knowledge, contact with people in mourning requires the ability to provide guidance and respond appropriately to the needs of customers.

Topics of the seminar are: Practical questions in the course of a funeral, the role of employees in customer contact, basic rules of dialogue, understanding mourning processes, types of burial and their effect on mourning, meeting objections and mastering crises,

dealing with cultural and religious peculiarities, cooperation with undertakers, pastors and speakers as well as dealing with one's own burdens. Theory and practice are combined through role play and practical exercises based on a mock urn burial.

Birgit Aurelia Janetzky is a qualified theologian and works as a funeral speaker.
