Funeral practice and a customer-oriented approach to relatives

7. - 8. September 2021

The workplace "cemetery" poses special challenges for the employees. The contact with the mourning people requires not only professional knowledge but also the ability to give orientation and to respond appropriately to the needs of the customers. The topics of the seminar are above all practical questions in the course of a funeral, the role of the employees in customer contact, basic rules of conversation, understanding mourning processes, types of funeral and their effect on the mourning, meeting objections and mastering crises, dealing with cultural and religious peculiarities, cooperation with undertakers, pastors and speakers as well as dealing with one's own burdens. Theory and practice are combined in the seminar through role play and practical exercises using a simulated urn burial.

The seminar is aimed at cemetery employees who are employed in the funeral hall service and as porters, whose area of responsibility is to advise on the allocation of graves or to accompany relatives in the farewell rooms of the cemetery.
