Around 50 museums, galleries, and cultural institutions, spanning art and history, science and technology, literature, and music, are participating in the diverse program of Museum Night. The Museum of Sepulchral Culture is also taking part again this year, offering live music, pantomime, hands-on activities for children and adults, a temporary bar, and special tours, including the legendary midnight tour.

ME AND YOU, HUMAN AND ANIMAL. On animals and their relationship to humans.
Playmobil tour for children through the special Where to put the dog? with Ukrainian translation
Guide dogs perform vital work, providing orientation for visually impaired people. Sometimes, it is these animals that offer comfort in difficult times. And without a milk cow, there is no milk! The role of (domestic) animals, however, has changed dramatically in recent decades. For some, they are family members or treated like their own children. In our Playmobil exhibition, you will learn about the diverse relationships between humans and animals and can share your own personal experiences with hippos, ducks, and dogs.

MY FRIEND, THE RABBIT. Sculpt your pet and tell your story.
In the tradition of Day of the Dead There is a belief that animals who die come to visit us again from the afterlife. We have prepared an altar for this purpose, where all the things your pet likes or liked can find a place. Model your pet or something that reminds you of your pet.
You can tell your story, and if you want, it will become part of the exhibition.

GRAVESTONE OF THE FUTURE
Are gravestones gray, polished, and inscribed with names? Far from it! One section of our permanent exhibition is dedicated to modern grave markers. In front of the museum, beneath the chestnut tree, works in stone, concrete, iron, and glass are gathered. They are meant to demonstrate that a grave marker can be as individual as the person for whom it is created. And some grave markers even continue to grow after death. MEMENTO MIME
Tomine and Pan love stories. They enjoy experiencing them and telling them in their own unique way: without words. During Museum Night, they interact with the objects in our exhibition. They enter into dialogue, share stories about them, and find themselves within them. Visitors can expect an interplay of people and motifs, of objects and emotions, of stillness and movement. MEMENTO MIME: communication without words.

Matze Sampler
A guitar, a looper, a drum machine, and a modular system unlike any other. This classically trained guitarist from Berlin has made it his mission to combine live electronics with guitar sounds. Matze's playing style is like a live production. The track structures emerge "on the fly." With the help of the modular system, the listener is taken on a journey that leads to dancing and dreaming. A sophisticated and pulsating live experience. Matze performs his sounds in clubs, late-night shops, festivals, and even thriller readings (Ulrich Noethen, Romy Hausmann) – and he's coming all the way from Berlin for Kassel's Museum Night!

Do you want to defy death? Then come along on a short journey with our curator. Dr. Ulrike Neurath through the many myths of immortality. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to craft your own immortality amulet.

Our focus is on dying, death, burial, mourning, and remembrance, and on the forms these have taken over time: burial and mourning rites and customs, but also artistic perspectives on dying and death. At midnight, your time has come. Immerse yourself with us in the permanent exhibition and pay close attention to what you should heed so that you emerge from here alive…

STORIES OF FAREWELL AND NEW BEGINNINGS
Our preview of HALF FULL Tobias and Daniel Heiler bring their passion for wine, connection, and atmosphere to the Museum of Sepulchral Culture. Their wine bar on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße has quickly become a beloved spot in Kassel – a place where good wine meets honest conversation, delicious treats, and surprising moments.
For Museum Night, they transform the museum into a temporary bar – stylish, vibrant, and featuring select wines that tell stories: of farewells and new beginnings, of pausing and savoring. In keeping with the night's theme, they serve wines from their Swabian homeland, non-alcoholic drinks, and fantastic sparkling and invigorating spritzers – as lively, bold, and vibrant as life itself. The drinks are accompanied by exciting culinary delights. Anyone familiar with HALBVOLL knows: here, drinks aren't just poured. They're served with soul.

Paella from Club Juvenil
Paella is more than just a meal in Spain – it's a communal experience. We're delighted to welcome Club Juvenil to share this Spanish tradition of community through its culinary delights. Founded 50 years ago as a youth club, Club Juvenil on Mombachstrasse continues to serve as a meeting place for Kassel's Spanish community, where they can spend evenings together, go on hikes, or watch football. For Museum Night, friends Paco Perez and Juan Lozano will be bringing their paella to the Museum of Sepulchral Culture.
