Last aid course
The basics of accompanying seriously ill and dying people
Last Aid courses provide fundamental knowledge and practical guidance for interacting with seriously ill and dying people. They demonstrate, in an understandable and sensitive way, how to offer support at the end of life, alleviate anxieties, and deal with topics such as saying goodbye, suffering, death, and advance care planning. This also includes information on personal wishes, decisions, and options for planning ahead.
Providing end-of-life care isn't a science; it's something that can be done within families and neighborhoods. Experts from the German Red Cross offer basic knowledge, guidance, and practical skills. They aim to equip people with fundamental knowledge and encourage them to reach out to those who are dying. Because compassion is what we all need most at the end of life. It improves the quality of life for people in their final stage. In addition to theoretical content, such as advance directives, participants learn practical skills like oral care, positioning, providing emotional support, and simply being present and offering comfort.
