Spende erbeten.
This lecture is about the struggle for boundaries and their significance for the individual psyche, for groups and for society.
Boundaries provide orientation and support, organize perception and behaviour and help to piece together the fragmentary nature of the world and life and construct meaning within it. On the other hand, they represent a restriction that we cannot and do not want to accept without further ado. Crossing boundaries can be pleasurable, when it comes to growing beyond oneself, pushing boundaries, expanding scope and possibilities. Crossing boundaries can enable freedom. However, boundlessness, for example in the consumption of resources, can destroy the foundations of life.
And how should the discussion about assisted suicide be classified against the background of these considerations?
